- 4 cups fresh okra
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups yellow plain cornmeal
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 Tsp sea salt
- ½ Tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
1. Wash okra and cut into ½ inch rounds. Place okra into a zip lock bag, and add in flour. Now shake zip lock bag around, so that flour can evenly coat the okra. Next remove okra from zip lock bag, and place into a mixing bowl. Now add in egg, making sure all of the okra is coated evenly with the egg.
2. Place cornmeal into zip lock bag, and add in salt and black pepper. Heat a medium sized skillet over high heat. Add in oil. Add in 1 cup of okra at a time into zip lock bag. Coat evenly.
3. Remove okra from the zip lock bag, with a slotted spoon, and place into heated frying pan reducing heat to medium high. Fry until golden brown, turning once.
